History of
Camden Day Nursery
In April 1890, Camden Day Nursery was first organized at the Trinity Baptist Church in Haddonfield, NJ by a group of dedicated individuals who saw a very important need to provide quality day care for the children of working parents.
On July 14, 1890 Camden Day Nursery opened its doors at 214 Benson Street. We moved to our current location, 327 Stevens Street, in 1906.
Camden Day Nursery’s funding sources are United Way of Camden County; the division of Youth and Family Services; City of Camden Board of Education; the NJ Child Care Assistance Program; and the Child and Adult Food Program of NJ.
We are proud to have served thousands of children and families over our last 130 years in operation.
